Testimonials

I have been extremely fortunate in my career, to learn from some great practitioners, work alongside a number of innovative coaches and train with some inspiring athletes.

Arran has been a terrific asset to our program. His work ethic and communication skills have had a huge impact to the overall training philosophy of the Men’s team and his knowledge has made all of the tennis players, better athletes. It has been a pleasure to work alongside Arran.

Arran worked tirelessly to develop the physical qualities and behaviours key to successful performance in Professional Rugby. His enthusiasm, knowledge and attention to detail were impressive. He will be missed by the coaches and players alike.

I have worked with Arran since January 2010 and his ability to compliment the three disciplines and extreme endurance nature of Ironman distance triathlon with specific and time efficient strength work has been key to my development as a professional athlete. He carefully considered a programme to fit in with my high volume base work and streamlined the sessions over the months to fit in with the demands of the season.  I'm looking forward to seeing the benifits in the long-run!!!!

The nature of the Professional Tour makes the need for a structured off-court training programme even more important. The programmes Arran put together increased in volume, intensity and specificity over time as I became more competent and confident.

I worked with Arran in the lead up to the Athens Olympics. The training programmes were adapted, progressive and very specific to my individual goals. I am confident I arrived at the Games fitter, stronger and faster as a result of his input and support.

Having picked up a niggling injury pre-season, Arran co-ordinated my gradual return to full training and ultimately selection to the Ulster and Ireland 20s squads, providing constant motivation and support throughout an emotionally frustrating and physically challenging time.

With the development of netball as an elite sport, my training programs had to follow suit. I found that Arran was not only able to provide me the motivation and support which I needed to challenge and push myself during the sessions, he also made them fun and enjoyable, where we could have a laugh whilst he 'cracked the whip'.

I worked with Arran during my transition from the Junior to the Senior Tour. It is very important to know the people around you understand the sport and the pressure of performance but also know how and when to push you hard to get the best out of you as an athlete - I feel a lot stronger and fitter and I never once got injured, so he must have be doing something right!

Winner U18 Nationals (2009)
Winner U16 Nationals (2008)

Training for multi-discipline endurance events is not only physically demanding but extremely time consuming. The programmes Arran prescribed were concise and effective, developing stability and efficiency, reducing the time and energy cost of my training leaving me more time for much needed rest and recovery between sessions!
